About Me.
Originally from San Francisco, Cynthia spent 10 years abroad in Asia, where she discovered yoga and rock climbing. She is grateful to call Boulder home for the past several years, bringing with her a warm and inviting approach and a genuine desire to share the intelligence and benefits of yoga with the community.
She first started practicing yoga in 2004 while living in Shanghai, China, initially as a form of exercise. Over time, her relationship with yoga developed into a more meaningful connection in which she continues to learn and grow both in her practice and teaching, as well as in daily life. Cynthia has been teaching for over 15 years and is certified ERYT-500 in alignment-based Hatha and Vinyasa. She is also a certified and practicing Physical Therapist Assistant and layers this in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology to her teachings with the goal of pain-free movement with individualized guidance.
From classes ranging from Yoga Therapy to Vinyasa Flow
to Hatha, she places a strong focus on alignment and
proprioceptive awareness, fostering stability and strength
through mindful movement.
Two values that guide her both on and off the mat are
inclusiveness and empathy. In class, she strives to guide
students in finding a practice that meets them where
they are, yet encourages them to find a point of challenge
and discomfort, to reveal the strength and possibility
that may not have been apparent. In daily life, these
values remind her to choose openness and
communication, so that she may continue to learn
from this vast and amazing world of beings.
